About Tim de Rooij, principal consultant
Solid background in Corporate Finance
After graduating with a Masters degree in Financial Management from Nyenrode Business University in 2011, Tim started his career at the Amsterdam-based investment boutique Keijser Capital, focused on mid-market corporate finance advisory. Being a practitioner of lifelong learning, he enrolled in the part-time LLM Finance and Law program at the Duisenberg School of Finance in 2013, from which he graduated in 2015.
Hands-on consultancy experience in Innovation and M&A growth strategy
In that same period Tim became fascinated by the impact of disruptive technologies on industries, and decided to immerse himself in the world of innovation by joining Deloitte Innovation in 2014. It was during this period that he gained product management experience, as part of the product team of the 'Fast Ventures' data platform in Deloitte's incubator. The product team, including Tim, was moved to Deloitte's M&A advisory service line, which marked the start of Deloitte's Disruptive M&A and Corporate Venturing services. Pioneering a new services proposition, Tim worked on strategic projects at c-level for corporate clients including Nokia, Sanoma, KPN and PostNL.
Passionately engaged in (social) entrepreneurship
In parallel to his work at Deloitte, Tim worked as a (pro bono) advisor to startups. Startups he has worked with include Pacmed (HealthTech, AI), Nxchange (FinTech), SingularityU the Netherlands (education), and The Startup Orgy (co-working space).
Other voluntary activities include business advisor to social enterprise WOO (2011-2017) and young member in the Amsterdam Economic Board (2016-2018).
